Vodafone is one of the biggest networks in the UK, and it delivers extensive 4G and 5G coverage. But you can get all of that coverage on other networks too, as some MVNOs (mobile virtual network operators) share Vodafone’s coverage.
Some of these are run by Vodafone itself, while others are completely separate companies, and in all cases they have things that might make you want to consider them over Vodafone itself.
Below, we’ve detailed the key MVNOs that offer SIM Only plans with Vodafone’s coverage, complete with what makes them stand out.
Asda Mobile is one network that shares Vodafone’s coverage, and it offers SIM Only plans of 12-month and 24-month durations, along with 30-day Pay As You Go bundles.
These plans come with unlimited minutes and texts, and up to unlimited data. 5G also comes as standard, and many of its plans come with data rollover, so if you don’t use all your data one month you have a second chance to.
Plus, the network offers tethering, Wi-Fi Calling, and 4G Calling at no extra cost, and you can also roam in the EU inclusively (up to a 5GB fair usage limit).
Lebara also shares Vodafone’s coverage, and this network stands out through including international minutes with your plan, so you can call abroad at no extra cost. You can also roam in the EU, China, and India at no extra cost.
Lebara’s SIM Only plans come in at a choice of 30 days or 12 months, and you can get up to unlimited data, along with Wi-Fi Calling, 4G Calling, and the ability to tether. Its plans also come with unlimited UK minutes and texts, 5G, and you won’t be credit checked on Lebara.
Talkmobile is an MVNO that’s actually owned by Vodafone. It offers both 30-day rolling and 12-month SIM Only plans, and you can get up to unlimited data. You can also roam across the EU at no extra cost up to a fair usage limit of 5GB.
Plus, the network’s plans come with 5G, unlimited minutes and texts, tethering, Wi-Fi Calling, and 4G Calling. You also won’t be credit checked for Talkmobile’s SIM Only plans. This network isn’t quite as feature packed as some, but it’s designed primarily as a cheaper alternative to Vodafone.
Finally there’s VOXI, which is also owned by Vodafone, and stands out mainly through its plans coming with ‘Unlimited Social,’ which means you can use Snapchat, Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Facebook Messenger without it affecting your data allowance.
Many of VOXI’s plans also come with ‘Unlimited Video,’ which lets you use YouTube, Netflix, Prime Video, My5, and TikTok without eating into your data allowance, and ‘Unlimited Music’, which does the same for Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Tidal, Deezer, Napster, and Primordial. Note though that this doesn’t include subscriptions to these services, so you’ll still need to pay to subscribe where relevant.
VOXI’s plans are all flexible 30-day rolling ones, and you can get up to unlimited data with them, as well as unlimited minutes and texts. 5G comes as standard, and there’s support for tethering, Wi-Fi Calling, and 4G Calling.
You won’t be credit checked for any of VOXI’s 30-day SIM Only plans either, and the network typically costs less than Vodafone itself. But note that unlike with many MVNOs, you do have to pay a low daily charge to roam, even in the EU.
