At over 99% 4G population coverage in the UK you can be sure you’ll get a speedy connection on Vodafone almost everywhere, and its coverage is improving all the time. The network also offers 5G, and coverage is rapidly improving there too.
Depending on the package you choose you can also get significant extras in the form of music or video subscription services bundled in, which are detailed below.
Vodafone’s SIM Only plans come with between 1GB and unlimited monthly data. All SIM Only plans also come with unlimited minutes and texts.
Plans are available in 30-day, 12-month and 24-month durations, so you don’t have to be tied in for long – though choose a 24-month plan and you can get better prices.
Vodafone SIM Only plans include Wi-Fi Calling and 4G Calling, allowing you to use your number to make and receive calls over Wi-Fi or 4G, which is handy if you ever have a Wi-Fi connection but no signal, or 4G but no 3G or 2G.
However, the biggest extra you get with Vodafone is its entertainment packages. These are available on select plans, and give you a subscription to Spotify Premium, Amazon Prime or YouTube Premium for the duration of your contract.

Yes. Vodafone lets you use as much of your allowances as you want for tethering, so you can use your phone’s mobile data to get laptops, tablets and other devices online when there’s no Wi-Fi available.
It’s easy to keep your number when you switch to Vodafone. Just order your Vodafone SIM Only package, then text 'PAC' (from your old number) to 65075, or call up your old network and request your PAC code. Once you’ve activated your Vodafone SIM and received a temporary number you can then fill out Vodafone’s ‘Keep my number’ form.
If you fill out the form before 5pm on a working day, then your number should be transferred the next working day. If the form is sent after 5pm or on the weekend, then your number will usually take up to two working days to be transferred.
Vodafone will send you a Multi-SIM, which includes all three SIM card sizes (nano, mini and standard). That means you don’t need to know what SIM card your phone takes before ordering. That said, modern smartphones all use a nano SIM (the smallest size), so that’s probably what you’ll need.
Once you’ve got your Multi-SIM you can either compare it to your old SIM card to work out which you need that way, or search online for what SIM card your phone make and model takes.
Once you know it’s a simple case of popping out the right size and putting it in your phone.
