Why choose a 1pMobile SIM Only deal?

1pMobile is a small network with just a handful of SIM Only plans to choose from, but these plans are affordably priced, making it a great bargain choice, and they last just 30 days, so you’re not locked into a long contract.

All plans come with unlimited minutes and texts, as well as 5G, Wi-Fi Calling, 4G Calling, tethering, and inclusive roaming across the EU. So there are quite a few extras here, despite its focus on keeping prices low.

Is 1pMobile a good network?

1pMobile is powered by EE, which means it has the same coverage and speeds as you’ll get on EE itself. That’s a massive benefit of 1pMobile, as EE is one of the most expensive networks to be on, thanks in part to it having some of the best 4G and 5G coverage in the UK. So getting access to that at 1pMobile’s prices is a great perk.

EE – and therefore 1pMobile – also has impressively high speeds. A September 2023 Opensignal report found that EE’s average download speed (using a combination of 5G, 4G, and 3G) was 40.9Mbps, and that its average upload speed was 9.3Mbps. That, in both cases, is faster than the speeds achieved by Three, Vodafone, or O2.

When looking just at 5G, the same report found that EE had an average download speed of 99.5Mbps, while RootMetrics found in the first half of 2023 that EE’s median 5G download speed was a fast 144.6Mbps. In most reports EE comes out behind Three for 5G speeds, but ahead of Vodafone and O2.

So that all bodes well for 1pMobile, and 1pMobile is well liked by customers too, as it has a score of 4.5/5 on Trustpilot. That’s based on almost 16,000 ratings, and is considered an ‘excellent’ score.

FAQ

Can I roam abroad with 1pMobile?

Yes, 1pMobile provides inclusive EU roaming on all of its SIM Only plans. This allows you to use your allowances at no extra cost in 46 European destinations, including France, Italy, and many more. The only restriction is a 14GB fair usage limit for data.

Does 1pMobile have credit checks?

No, 1pMobile won’t credit check you for any of its SIM Only plans, making it a great option for those with a poor credit rating or who just don’t want a check carried out. A lot of networks do credit check even for SIM Only plans, so this is a real benefit of 1pMobile. For other no credit check options, take a look at who offers SIM Only deals with no credit check.

Can I keep my number when switching to 1pMobile?

Yes, you can keep your number when switching to 1pMobile, and the process for doing so is quick and easy.

Start by ordering your 1pMobile SIM Only plan, then, while you’re waiting for your new SIM card to arrive, using your old SIM card, text the word ‘PAC’ to 65075. You’ll be sent a PAC (Porting Authorisation Code) in response.

Hold onto this, and then once your 1pMobile SIM card arrives, head to your new 1pMobile online account and activate the SIM card. From this screen, you’ll be asked if you want to port your number, so say yes and enter your PAC. You can also choose which day you’d like the number transfer to happen on (with two working days of notice required).

Can I get unlimited data on 1pMobile?

1pMobile doesn’t currently offer any unlimited data plans, but you can get up to 200GB on SIM Only. That should be more than enough for most people, but lots of other networks do have unlimited data plans if you need more than that.
