EE is one of the UK’s biggest networks, and it’s fast too – often performing well in independent speed tests.

As a major network, its plans are also packed full of extras – including some of its unlimited data SIM Only ones, which are available in both one and 24-month varieties.

So below, we’ve detailed these plans, including what you get with them and whether the data allowance is really unlimited.

Is roaming included?

EE’s unlimited data SIM Only plans don’t all include roaming, but if you purchase an ‘All Rounder’, ‘Essentials Plus’, or ‘Essentials Plus Max’ plan you’ll get no-charge roaming in the EU, and with a ‘Full Works’ plan you’ll be able to roam in select locations beyond Europe too. However, there’s a 50GB fair usage limit when roaming.

Are there any speed restrictions?

If you choose a ‘No Frills’ plan then your speeds will be capped at 10Mbps, while ‘Essentials’ and ‘Essentials Plus’ plans will cap them at 100Mbps. On ‘All Rounder’ and ‘Full Works’ plans your speeds are uncapped.

Are there any fair usage restrictions?

EE has a 600GB fair usage limit on its unlimited data plans – or more specifically you shouldn’t exceed 600GB twice within a six-month period. You also shouldn’t regularly tether 12 or more devices.

What other benefits are included?

EE’s unlimited data plans all come with unlimited minutes and texts, tethering support, Wi-Fi Calling, 4G Calling, the option of an eSIM, and the option of family plans. Additionally, you’re able to gift your data to family members who are also on EE.

Beyond that, depending on your plan you may have access to 5G+, which is even faster than standard 5G, plus priority coverage in busy areas, and an ‘Inclusive Extra’. These extras are all subscription services and the exact selection you’ll be able to choose from will depend on your plan, but the full list at the time of writing is as follows:

Apple Music, Apple TV, Netflix Standard with adverts, Google One Premium 2TB, Netflix Premium, Apple One Individual, TNT Sports on Discovery+, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, or Google AI Pro.

What other networks should you consider?

If you want EE’s coverage but don’t necessarily want to sign up with EE itself, then take a look at 1pMobile, CMLink, or Lyca Mobile. These networks all share EE’s coverage, and they all sell unlimited data SIM Only plans.

Of them, Lyca Mobile is particularly notable, as its plans include international minutes for calling abroad, and some let you roam in China and India as well as the EU. CMLink similarly allows roaming in Europe, as well as both China and Hong Kong, and its plans include international minutes.

1pMobile only includes EU roaming, but if you add additional unlimited data plans to your account these will be sold for half price.
